"How will you know when you've become an American?" author-director Dinesh D'Souza asks near the end of "Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party." "You'll know when you've become a Republican." Disgustingly exclusionary following 106 minutes of radical far-right delusions, this closing note is at the dismayingly inflammatory heart of the film's very message. Less a documentary than an extended episode of Comedy Central's "Drunk History" as told by a zombified Fox News Channel commentator, this pitifully acted, reenactment-heavy propaganda piece finds a way to lay the blame on 21st-century Democrats for every single negative thing that has ever occurred in U.S. history.

Among the film's most astounding "revelations:"
  1. One of President Barack Obama's biggest goals while in office was to send Dinesh D'Souza to jail. Sure enough, he was directly responsible for just that; D'Souza was indicted on felony charges for campaign finance fraud in 2014 and sentenced to eight months in a halfway house and copious psychological assessment testing.
  2. While in said halfway house, he learned from another inmate that Democratic poor people and minorities make a living off of swindling and murdering unsuspecting Republicans.
  3. Democratic President Andrew Jackson was the top proponent for slavery, if not its creator, while Republicans were virtuous, angelic saviors. Today, Obama runs the modern Democratic plantation (i.e., ghettos, slums, and barrios), intimidating immigrants who move into these places to vote Democrat.
  4. The Ku Klux Klan was not a shameful grassroots movement begun in the South, but was directly originated by the Democratic Party throughout the North and the South in the 1860s. The party's current campaign for gun control is a racially motivated ploy to take guns from African Americans so they cannot protect themselves.
  5. When D.W. Griffith's "The Birth of a Nation" was released in 1915, a screening was held at the White House where inspired Democratic politicians smirked and nodded as a fiery image of a Ku Klux Klan member on horseback rode off the screen.
  6. In 1926, Margaret Sanger created Planned Parenthood and specifically spearheaded the Negro Project, fighting for the legalization of abortions as a clandestine means of exterminating the black population.
  7. As a young woman, Hillary Clinton was so brainwashed by her anarchic left-wing mentor, Saul Alinsky, she would spend her nights watching footage on her television of bombs obliterating landscapes, the sight of destruction lighting up her mesmerized eyes.
  8. Sexual abuse in the Democratic Party is no surprise since it is a widespread epidemic. "What is it about Democratic presidents and innocent white women?" D'Souza searchingly asks in voiceover.
  9. Hillary Clinton is the war on women. In fact, she not only knew about her husband's alleged indiscretions, but orchestrated them, becoming his cleaner so she could attack the female accusers. With their nefarious deeds done, the "larcenous duo" would wickedly laugh afterward, the two of them drunkenly staggering through the halls of the White House with champagne raised.
  10. Hillary Clinton is the closest thing to a monster in human clothing, so out of control she used to storm through the halls of the White House, smacking stacks of papers out of aides' hands as they cowered helplessly in the corner.
  11. Hillary Clinton spends her free time prowling the nighttime streets in search of downtrodden, working-class men staring forlornly through windows at restaurants patrons, and whispers into their ears, "They are rich because they steal from you. Vote for me."
  12. Dinesh D'Souza has snuck into the backrooms of local Hillary Campaign Headquarters locations and found, among other things, hidden files, deleted emails, and a cabinet portentously labeled "The Plan."
  13. The goal of the Democratic Party is to STEAL AMERICA! (insert suspenseful horror-movie music).
For political free-thinkers who have even a cursory understanding of the past and the complexity and nuance of the country's progressivism, "Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party" can be viewed as nothing more than laughably incendiary hogwash. And, for those who are also familiar with Dinesh D'Souza's last picture, 2014's "America: Imagine the World Without Her," this one is more of the same, living up to his typical skewed lunacy and egotistical, over-the-top grandstanding. He sees no difference between today's Democratic Party and the awful things that happened two hundred years ago, happy to keep those narrow-minded, black-and-white blinders up throughout.

"Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party" isn't just a roundelay of blatantly naive falsehoods, hideous misinformation, and fictional imaginings, but also serves as plainly inept filmmaking, full of mind-numbing reenactments that make dinner theater look like comparative beacons of historical accuracy (yes, he even recreates his own trial and incarceration). Even the so-called documentary segments and talking-head interviews are archly delivered by people who act like they've been scripted within an inch of their lives. Meanwhile, D'Souza positions himself as the main attraction, a creepy conspiracy theorist who loves to hear the sound of his own voice. He likens himself to a truth-seeking messiah of the people, but spends nearly two hours preaching divisiveness. "Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party" earns unintentional laughs time and again, but at a certain point it stops being funny and becomes offensive instead, frightening in its constitutional debasement and exploitative sideshow spectacle. It couldn't be any more un-American if it tried.
